英文名字

民國60幾~70幾年出生的朋友們，一定都有上過英文補習班，而且大多都是老師取的英文名字，要好記又好念，像Mary, Rose, Jane, Jean, Jack, David, Andy, Brian...等，我的英文名字也是個菜市場名，已經聽過7,8個人跟我一樣，包括朋友的媽媽、朋友的朋友、朋友家裡的菲傭....等。曾經也打算改成Lynn，也編過叫Karyn的怪名字（小時候不懂事），但因為"習慣"在作祟，還是用回"Linda"這正字標記。

我想過，將來我的小朋友一定要有一個很酷又有象徵性的英文名字，翻來翻去，目前我找的了幾個名字，其他還在想...大家參考一下吧！

• Adrianne - 因為我很喜歡 America's Next Top Model Season 1 的冠軍 Adrianne Curry，很獨立自我，所以我想name after her...
• Elizabeth - Cate Blanchett 演的伊莉莎白女皇，讓我覺得她是個很有責任感、又有憐憫之心的女王，所以我想name after her...
• Fran - 小時候很喜歡看 The Nanny，女主角身材很辣又很搞笑 & 讓我學到很多英文單字，重點是帶給大家歡樂，所以我想name after her...
• Jake - 因為 Jack 太平凡了，Jake感覺是平凡中帶點不平凡，呵呵～

生病

听了一天雨滴打窗的声音，躺在床上，体温上升，降一点，晚上又彪上新高。这一年怎么老容易感冒发烧啊？！其实屁大点病，不过真是折腾死人，浑身酸疼，裹着被子出了好多汗，实在忍不住把脚伸出被窝透透气。生病的时候有时候就是不太理智！不过，胃口还是很好。

 

今天是爸爸生日，不能及时打电话回去了，等我精神好点再补打吧。爸爸，生日快乐！

"Hellboy II: The Golden Army"

This sequel to the unusually entertaining 2004 film "Hellboy" has been heavily promoted.  Considering the movie's large budget increase relative to the first film, and Guillermo del Toro's most recent success, the excellent "Pan's Labyrinth", the constant barrage of advertisements for "Hellboy II" didn't come as a surprise.  The film reunites the main cast members: Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Selma Blair (Liz Sherman) and Doug Jones (Abe Sapien).  Perlman steals the show once again, his confidence and charisma gleaming through the outrageous prosthetics and deep red makeup.  Both his dramatic and comical scenes work well, and his experiences as a character actor, as well as his genuine sense of humour about himself, combine to create a very human portrait.  The lovely, pixie-like Ms. Blair plays Liz Sherman, Hellboy's girlfriend and partner in heroism.  Her character is something of a harpy in the first part of the film, but she eventually straightens things out, and she's a pleasure to watch by the end.  Her and Perlman share excellent chemistry, which helps things along nicely.  Doug Jones played Abe Sapien in the first movie, in that he was the person who occupied the Sapien costume.  (David Hyde Pierce voiced the Abe Sapien character in the first movie, though.)  This time around, Jones is the man both occupying the costume and voicing the character.  I enjoyed his performance, and I thought it much better than in his role as 'Pan', however, Pierce's voice work in the original Hellboy was more effective.  Jeffrey Tambor also reprises his role as the insecure, dorky Tom Manning, a role created for comic relief, and Mr. Tambor has always shown himself to be up to the task.  Oh, and listen for Seth MacFarlane as the voice of Johann Krauss.  His character's a LOT of fun.  Hellboy and his compatriots find themselves in a spot of trouble when the prince of a supposedly 'lost' race of humanoids declares war on humanity, and sets out to activate the Golden Army, a battle force of indestructible, possibly supernatural, robots.  Luke Goss plays the aforementioned prince (Prince Nuada), and his performance absolutely impresses.  His prince is an intelligent, ambitious, skilled and determined prince, and he's a worthy adversary for the group.  Anna Walton plays his sister, Princess Nuala, and she's the sweet, honest ying to Nuada's selfish, deceitful yang.  Another good performance, however, I didn't think the romance betwen her character and Abe Sapien worked very well at all, due to a lack of an emotional spark between the two.  The special effects were amazing, and if you liked the effects in "Pan's Labyrinth", you should definitely go see this movie.  The elemental scene, in particular, really stands out.  The script is filled with many exciting, dramatic and emotional moments, and the film never drags at all.  One of the best movies I've seen so far this year.
